Of all the mindsets a person can have that can help them in business and life in general its self empowerment. These are people who are so naturally friendly that when you put them inside a room of strangers, they’ll be friends with almost everyone in no time. An individual like this is a people-person, someone who is unbelievably nice and charismatic and has incredible charm.
Being socially-empowered these people live life to the fullest because their charm allows other people to catapult them to success. They earn the trust and all-out support of the people, whom they have come into contact with and helped before. These people are always helping others, even in what appear to be small and insignificant ways. As a result they can do anything because they have a plethora of people supporting them. All this is a result of them maximizing their social potential!
By understanding and using your social skills to the fullest you can reach self-empowerment. Self-empowerment involves examining your life so that you can be a happier and more successful person. This will help you become a people person which is necessary for success in any endeavor in life – except being a hermit of course.
Let’s take a look at 10 methods of using self empowerment to live life to the fullest:
1. Be genuine and sincere in your relationships.
Do you know what makes children endearing? It’s that they are genuine and sincere. With kids what you see is what you get. On the other hand adults can be deceitful, or at least try to be, pretending to be interested in others. But others usually figure this out quite quickly and in the long run they nearly always do. Once they perceive that you are Mr. or Ms. Hypocrite with selfish intentions, you might as well say goodbye to self-empowerment. So rule one is to be genuinely nice to and interested in people.
2. Become a good listener.
There is an old saying that I’ve got better at remembering over the years. It’s “God gave you two ears and one mouth so you’d listen twice as much as you talk.” To earn the love and trust of people, learn to listen to them. Do not just hear them out, waiting for them to finish so you can interject. Listen to them with you’re your whole heart. Make eye contact when the person talks to you. Listen as if their every word matters, because it does – to them.
3. Let yourself laugh out loud.
Before we go on, remember rule one – be genuine and sincere. So don’t force yourself to belly laugh at every joke you hear. This means finding humor in everyday life and not being so darn serious about you. A person oozing with an awesome sense of humor attracts crowds and success.
4. Remember to take care of your needs.
In the process of fluttering around like a social butterfly, you might forget yourself, allowing everyone to push you over. Remember, love and value yourself before anyone else. When you ride on an airplane, one of the safety measures is that if there is an incident that oxygen is needed, when the oxygen mask drops put it over your face first, even if you are flying with your child. This is because you can’t help your child if you pass out – so you need to get your oxygen mask on first. The same goes for your life. You need to take care of yourself first. When you deem yourself respectable and worthy of affection, people will flock to you and not trample on you.
5. Commit random acts of kindness.
Committing random acts of kindness doesn’t mean you have to be John Rockefeller and give all your savings to charity. Little random acts of kindness matters the most. This can be as simple as giving someone a surprise card or letting someone with one item in a grocery store step in front of you in line. When we were kindergarten students, kindness was taught to us and we really tried to practice it. So go ahead and be a kindergartener again!
6. Stay in touch with your friends.
How good do you feel when you talk to an old friend? Although your friends might be far away, thanks to technology, you can stay in touch. If you haven’t talked with an old friend for a while pick up the phone and call, or check to see if they’re on Facebook or do something else to contact them. These old friend just might bring you the support you need.
7. Develop a winning attitude.
To succeed in life you need a winning attitude. Are you grouchy, grumpy and generally morose? That is definitely not a winning attitude. You can’t live life to the fullest with those. Make a list of things you‘d like to change and decide to get rid of any traits or habits that perpetually hamper your growth. People love to be around a person with a winning attitude.
8. Develop you self esteem and confidence.
Self esteem and confidence come about through practice. Practice being a sociable person. Be the kind of person that strides to the opposite corner of the room and introduces themselves with a winning smile to others. One caveat here is to be confident, not arrogant.
9. Discipline your anger.
I’ve heard that you need to express your emotions. Well, I don’t necessarily agree with that philosophy, especially when it comes to anger. When angry, don’t snap at anyone. Never throw a tantrum. Do your best to stay calm and collected. Be mature enough to take control of the situation. This way you can transform your anger into something more productive and passive, like a solution. People don’t like to work with angry people. Decide to control your anger.
10. Make time for the ones you love.
One of the best ways to live life to the fullest is to make time for the ones you love. Your relationship with your family, friends and significant others is too precious to neglect. Spend time with them. Do things together. Go out and do fun things with them. Happiness will never fly from your side as long as the people who matter the most are close to you.
Using self empowerment to live life to the fullest means determining to become the best person you can possibly be. It means developing a winning attitude. It means developing your self esteem and confidence. It means stretching who you are now into the person you want to be. Your growth will allow you to help others grow too. This is a true win-win situation. So decide to commit yourself to a life filled with self-empowerment today. You’ll be so glad you did!
